Ocean Temperature and the effect on Marine Species
The temperature of the ocean varies across the earth. The highest temperature of seawater is found in low latitudes and ranges from 26-30°C. The lowest temperatures of seawater depend on the salinity of the water which is usually below 0°C for example a salinity of 35 parts per thousand will produce a temperature of -1.91° C required for seawater to freeze. Ocean water is continually circulating which means that there usually is not much of a variation in temperature apart from geographical and seasonal differences.
Temperature of the ocean has a massive effect on marine species which can be explored throughout this website.
